As Young Academic has today learnt, more than half of the students studying in the United Kingdom do not put money aside for their all important textbooks and other literature. iluvmycan Competition Finalists Announced


Back in June, Young Academic brought you news of a fantastic competition being spearheaded by none other than televiion presenter, Miquita Oliver. iluvmycan gives students the chance to show of their artistic prowess whilst at the same time helping the environment and the finalist have now been shortlisted. Among the best ten pieces of work were a hot air balloon, a Union Jack, and daredevil stunts chosen as finalists for nationwide beverage can art competition

As a new academic year begins it looks like it will be another turbulent term of student action and protest. Student groups are organising a wave of protests to coincide with the trade union strike action planned for the end of November. Young Academic’s featured editor Robert Gant reports.
