The world-renowned Red Bull Music Academy is billed to take place in Paris later this year, with applications for this one of a kind musical experience now open. The Academy has been travelling the globe since 1998, establishing a temporary community of producers, vocalists, DJs, and instrumentalists wherever it pitches up. In the month covered, the chosen 60 will be part of recording sessions, performances, and lectures from high profile musical personalities with the aim of fostering new experiences, networks, and perspectives. Former alumni include contemporary names like Flying Lotus, Hudson Mohawke, Aloe Blacc, and Katy B.

Red Bull Music Academy Road to Paris sessions touching down in four cities this week

To apply, simply download the application form at apply.redbullmusicacademy.com and follow the instructions. All applications must be postmarked by March 4th to meet the deadline, and applicants must be at least 18 years of age by October 24th, 2015. The Red Bull Music Academy 2015 will take place from October 25th – November 27th.

To give prospective applicants a first-hand taste of what the Academy is all about, Red Bull Music Academy presents four Road to Paris sessions, running in Leeds, Liverpool, Bristol and London this week. These sessions will open with In Conversation with Mumdance. The 2014 Academy graduate will discuss his experience of Tokyo and the process of getting there, before answering questions from the floor. As a nod to this year’s Academy base, the second half of the sessions will see a different French musical luminary take to the couch in each city for a lecture mediated by Red Bull Music Academy regular Emma Warren. The full line-up for each city is as follows:

Leeds – Tuesday 3rd Feb at Hifi Club – DJ Deep
Liverpool – Wednesday 4th Feb at 24 Kitchen Street – Francois K
Bristol – Thursday 5th Feb at The Christmas Steps – Ivan Smagghe
London – Friday 6th Feb at Red Bull UK HQ – Gilb’R
