They’re coming thick and fast now! The third addition to the Young Academic Ultimate Festival Guide is a debutant of the festival scene. Taking place on the stunning Zrce beach on the island of Pag off the coast of Croatia, this one is a must for any dance fans out there. Hideout is brought to you by two of the biggest names in the industry, Warehouse Project and Electronic Music Group. This fantastic festival takes place just after exam period so it could be the perfect tonic after an arduous academic year!
Sven Vath, Erol Alkan and Crookers are just some of the huge names in dance music that have already confirmed. From 1st to 3rd July, Hideout Festival will host the biggest names in dance music set to the backdrop of a phenomenal beach venue in one of the most sought after holiday retreats of the moment.
Hideout Festival is setting its sights on becoming one of the leading dance festivals of the summer club season, overtaking Ibiza as the new clubbing destination. The Warehouse Project and Electronic Music Group’s Hideout Festival will bring only the absolute crème de la crème of international and underground dance music.
Friday 1st July sees German idol and owner of Cocoon Records Sven Vath headline a Hideout stage. Vath is undoubtedly one of the most influential electronic DJs on the globe and is integral to the clubbing culture of this decade. Supported by Wax:On residents People Get Real, aka Simon Lister and Peter Wilson who will no doubt tear up the dance floor as they continue to grow in popularity through the UK and now Europe.
Friday will also welcome to the Reclaim The Dancefloor stage duo Saul Milton and Will Kennard otherwise known as Chase & Status who will be presenting a deep and thumping DJ set for the Hideout masses along side newlysigned- to-Ninja-Tunes Toddla T, the BBC Radio 1xtra DJ who will be treating sun seekers to his fusion of electro, garage, dancehall and house. London based duo Jack Beats will also be joining the Reclaim The Dancefloor stage, recently championed for their remixes of the likes of Florence and the Machine and Boy-8-Bit. Melodic Records Nero whose single ‘Me and You’ received support from across the industry. Dubstep team Urban Nerds will be shaking the Metropolis Stage as they join the already phenomenal Friday line-up.
Joining Friday will be the hugely successful Jamie XX; one third of The xx, currently signed to XL, throughout 2010. Jamie established himself as a notable electronic collaborator and DJ. One of Germanys top DJs Dixon will be treating Hideout to some deep house whilst Mount Kimbie, fresh from their US tour provides some light dubstep fusions. Wax:On resident Mike Jones will also be joining Fridays mix along with Ramadanman aka David Kennedy in what is set to be the best electronic music festival across Europe.
Saturdays Dnb and Dubstep stage, Metropolis sees Pedulum and Sub Focus offering up DJ sets to Hideout Festival goers. The Australian group Pedulum have gained notable success through their rocky drum n base entering the UK Singles Charts. Sub Focus have just finished supporting the later on tour so both will be ready to get thousands jumping on the beach in Croatia. Double BRIT award winner and three time MOBO winner Ms Dynamite will show Saturdays crowd the time of their lives; fresh from teaming up with Hideouts own Toddla T.
With more acts to be announced for Saturday’s main stage West London’s own Gary McCann aka Caspa offers up some dark dub to Hideout with the likes of his remixes with the likes for Deadmau5. Originally DJ Clipz, Redlight has risen through the hierarchy to achieve drum n base notoriety now in 2011 playing to thousands at Hideout Festival, Topping off a unbeatable mix, is Trash legend and icon in his own right Erol Alkan, always understood as the UK’s best kept secret Alkan has now been unleashed across the world and is gaining international fans by the minute.
Saturday also sees BBC Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac, famed for officially starting the weekend, Mac aka MacManus, with over one million listeners she has made a fool proof impression on the UK dance music audience.
James Ford and Jas Shaw, otherwise known as Simian Mobile Disco (SMD) will be gracing Croatia with their memorable tunes that have set the scene for the past three summer dance seasons. Belgium based Vito De Luca, one half of internationally recognised Aeroplane will be joining the party with their psyche guitars and pop keys.
Wax:On regulars Eskimo Twins will also be adding to the flawless Saturday line-up.
Sunday 3rd July brings to a close what can only surely be the best electronic line-up throughout Europe. Performing on the Crosstown Rebels Stage, another Detroit legend to the mix, Seth Troxler, who has risen in cult status over the two years, reaching a climax over the past year, from the same label Jamie Jones will also be joining Troxler as the sun beats down on the Hideout masses.
Founder of Crosstown Rebels, Damian Lazarus, an original electronic pioneer Lazarus will be joining his label juniors at Hideouts 3rd July finally. Art Department is the brainchild of Canadian techno/house Legend Kenny Glasgow and Canada’s fastest rising star Jonny White. Together they make Art Department who have collaborated with fellow Hideout acts, Jamie Jones and Seth Troxler. Hailing from Leeds, Robert James has a large following in the second stronghold for underground house and techno in the UK, 2011 is set to be a huge year for the DJ.
The Ape stage welcomes Andy C & MC GQ to bring dance back to its roots with some hell raising mixes for the Hideout crowd. James Boyle aka Breakage with be teaming up with SP:MC on the Ape stage yet again upping this year’s Hideout offering. Joker & MC Scarz add to the mix on Sunday offering yet more explosive base to keep festival goers going till the very last second of the inaugural Hideout. The household name, Shy FX, will be spinning distant pop beats along with his jungle and drum n base influence, joining B2B B-Traits & SP:MC behind the decks.
Danny Byrd, championed by Fabio, will be playing the final day at Hideout, the drum n base DJ continues to grow as he joins MC AD in their Croatian take over.
Hideout’s Wax:On Stage will play host to Italian favourite Crookers, famed for their collaboration with Kid Kudi on Day ‘n’ Night in 2009, Crookers have become a powerful dubstep duo. Fake Blood, performing on Sunday 3rd July help close the three day electronic feast. Hailed as dance music’s future star, with his colourful exuberant sound, Riva Starr entertains on the Wax:On stage as George Butler aka Bowski brings to an end the extraordinary line-up at 2011 Hideout Festival.
Hideout Festival will run from Friday 1st July to Sunday 3rd July, on the beautiful Zrce beach on the Island of Pag, Croatia. The festival will feature two main stages, an indoor club and two outdoor swimming pools making the site at 10,000 capacity. Surrounded by stunning views and beaches the event is set to be the only destination for both European and UK based festival goers.
