Following the huge success of Fractured Sound’s au revoir to Politic North, the team are incredibly proud to announce their next instalment. They are really looking to get the Chester music scene pumping again and as such, they have a fantastic line up arranged for a night at The Compass which is owned and run by Wrexham Central Station. The Young Academic School of Music is delighted to be able to get behind another of these nights, as they continue to enhance the Chester music scene.

The first of which is Troy Gunner, a young electronic producer from Bath. After delivering his amazing début release on MINDSET, the west-country lad has been going from strength to strength. For this reason, Fractured Sound are delighted to be able to invite him to join them for what are becoming some of the best nights in the area.

With his début release at the end of last year on Indigo’s superb Mindset records, which tends to explore the more ambient side of DnB and Bass music, Troy Gunner wowed listeners with his Fool’s Gold EP. Mixing extensive field samples with snippets of beats and rhythms, his fully-formed sound emerged somewhere in between the exquisite sample-work of Mount Kimbie and Synkro’s darker leanings, and his IA mix explores both these aspects to his style.

On this superb mix Gunner offers a hefty selection of upcoming dub-plates from his stable, alongside a taster of his upcoming Headlights EP on Crescent and some tasty new cuts from re-mixes for Synkro, Indigo and My Nu Leng and Gang Colours.

Next up is Boean. A local Chester boy also known as REAL, this guy may well sound familiar to Chester revellers. On sounds of sumo and XVI, Boean is getting great write ups and as well as some very popular Youtube plays. He has played at Selective Hearing Manchester and Abandon Silence of late, adding to what is becoming a particularly impressive repertoire. Boean joins Fractured Sound fresh from some dates in London that have earned him some rave reviews.

This great duo will be joined by Fractured Sound residents to from a formidable Easter Sunday line-up. Proceedings will get under way at 9pm and carry on until 3am, perfect for any dance fans out there looking to take advantage of a well-deserved Monday morning off work!
