First up is the Snapshot Competition which launches in partnership with the National Union of Students and Morning Parade – one of the hottest new acts of the year. The challenge is to fit as many people as possible in a single photo at a campus landmark. Entrants can upload and share their photos on the 2011 Census website and on Flickr, with the best entries in with a chance of winning some amazing prizes from Morning Parade as well as a host of goodies from record label EMI.
Inspired by the origami theme of the census promotional campaign, the Origami Masterclasses Competition asks students to follow the step by step origami how-to videos available on the 2011 Census YouTube channel and then film their own creations. Videos can then be submitted to [email protected] and the most innovative entries will win the chance to party with Tinie Tempah, Mark Ronson and Magnetic Man at this years Beach Break Live in June, the ultimate student festival.
