With all the Young Academic Festival Guide updates and School of Music features of late, it is fair to say that we have been neglecting our student news of late. With this in mind, we can bring you news regarding the launch of the new NEF Directory – a new definitive guide of all the opportunities that exist for young, budding entrepreneurs.

Neeta Patel is the CEO of New Entrepreneurs Foundation and had the following to say of the NEF Directory;

“Every year over 1,000 young people apply for the 35 places on the NEF programme. We wanted to give guidance to the applicants in the final 100 who weren’t selected, to help them find other opportunities and for the last two years we have been pulling together a list which has got bigger and bigger. It is very difficult for budding entrepreneurs to navigate their way through the huge number of very different schemes and funding programmes.”

“This year we decided to dedicate time to extending the list and to actively research all the opportunities that exist for school leavers, students and graduates to create a really helpful resource. We hope that this will be a work in progress and we will welcome contributions from third parties to ensure that The NEF Directory is a one stop shop for anyone looking to start their own enterprise.”

Applications are now open for places on the September 2014 programme.

Check this fantastic video, which really extols the virtues of the NEF Directory and all it has to offer:

If students across the country would like any tips for securing their dream job from Bright Network MD Rachel Spedding (Author of ‘So You Want To Go Oxbridge Tell Me About A Banana’), then they should keep their eyes peeled for an interview early in the New Year.

Many of the graduate schemes will be closing in the next few weeks, so be sure to register your interest as quickly as possible.
