O2 is offering the UK’s brightest young minds the chance to learn vital skills through a range of quality paid placements, from three-month and 12-month internships to a two-year graduate programme.
Applications close at noon on the 22nd October for graduate placements and noon on the 30th October for internships, so potential recruits should act now to avoid missing out.
With positions available nationwide, candidates are invited to choose one of a range of areas to apply for, according to the field that interests them the most. These business-critical areas include Digital, Marketing, Data Analytics, Technical Operations and Sales, which covers both New Stores Management and Business to Business Sales. Once assigned, applicants will work on a diverse range of projects within their chosen area, allowing them to build on their skills and experience throughout their placement.
Everyone on the O2 internship and graduate programmes also has access to a corresponding learning programme, which is tailored to the field they’re working in. These learning programmes are designed to give additional support to O2’s interns and graduates and complement their daily work schedules.
Ann Pickering, HR Director at O2 said: “At O2, we’re privileged to see first-hand the benefits young people bring to our workplace. As youth unemployment remains stubbornly high and young people continue to struggle to get that all-important first step on the career ladder, we believe that all businesses have a role to play in supporting young people on their journey to work. That’s why we’re offering another 100 internships and 60 graduate places this year.
“As 4G rolls out all over the country, there’s never been a more exciting time to work in the mobile and telecoms industry. We’re privileged at O2 to be at the cutting edge of the digital revolution and we’re offering the opportunity to work right at the heart of it, on exciting projects that really will affect the future of our business, and the UK as a whole.”
Anjuli Valera, SMB Programme Manager in Business, started her career at O2 on the graduate programme. Anjuli said: “It’s fair to say that joining O2 on the European Graduate Scheme has launched my career. I was given the opportunity to not only learn new skills and gain experience, but to work in a number of different roles –– all of which are serving me well in my permanent position within the business.
“It can be pretty daunting leaving university and not knowing what’s coming next, but this programme is perfect for anyone looking to work in an innovative and vibrant company that will support you at every step of the way in your early career.”
