Renowned for its friendly atmosphere, St Mary’s is small enough to feel at home in and big enough to offer a full and rewarding student life. 52% of undergraduates achieve a 2:1 or First Class honours degree reflecting the very high quality of teaching, resources and support. 97% of recent undergraduates were either employed or had begun postgraduate study within six months of graduating. Faculty Facts

The University College offers modular undergraduate degrees and postgraduate study. Programmes cover sport, health, a wide range of humanities, teaching, drama, social sciences and management.

The Learning Resources Centre holds approximately 140,000 books and takes over 500 journals.

PC facilities are available on a 24 hour basis. There are areas set aside for individual study and spaces for collaborative learning. Students may also use the library at the University of Surrey, and can make arrangements to use other university libraries. All students have an accessible academic tutor who supports their learning.


Most first year students live in University College accommodation in purpose built halls on campus or large converted houses nearby transport links are excellent so those wanting to travel find it easy.


Student Services provides a full range of support for all students. All students have an academic tutor who supports their learning. The Chaplaincy team is at the heart of St Mary’s, providing a focus for the community life of the college and offering support for individual students and staff.

St Mary’s has excellent campus facilities – the Union has its own modern building with bar and a large events hall. With a long tradition of sporting achievement, the university college offers facilities for dozens of sports. Clubs and societies range from Alternative Music, through Dance, Drama Juggling and Kick Boxing to Volleyball, and many more. With the towns of Richmond and Kingston nearby and London within easy reach, there is no shortage of entertainment at St Mary’s.
