Young Academic & BUCS offer student photographers the chance to build their Portfolio

Young Academic have found a great way for any of you looking to build your photography portfolio to do so, whilst rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names in student sport. BUCS are looking for a team of budding photographers to help report all the big student news stories and you can even earn some commission…

British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) is looking for a network of student photographers to attend BUCS events and competitions to capture the best of student sport in season 2010/11.

BUCS has appointed Still Sport as the official online photography partner for BUCS student sports events. The new relationship allows promising student photographers the chance to profile their work, attend top quality sports events and earn money in the process. Still Sport and BUCS has launched an online portal which allows student photographers the chance to upload images from BUCS events and earn commission on any sales made.  If you are interested in covering a BUCS event, from a choice of 50 sport events, and making money from your shots, whatever level your photography skill is at, visit www.bucs.org.uk/photos or email [email protected].

BUCS manages and delivers over 150 sporting events during the academic year and this partnership will see Still Sport allow students, friends and family to browse through an extensive database of competition shots and purchase the photos of their choice online after the event. Images are available from as little as £2.50 for digital downloads and £3.00 for print copies.

Hannah Marshall, Communications & Marketing Manager at BUCS, said:

“Still Sport has long been a supporter of student sport and I am delighted that, together, we can allow student athletes the chance to preserve the memory of their BUCS competition easily and at a very small price.  There are hundreds of student photographers in the UK who regularly attend BUCS events yet don’t have the chance to profile their incredible talents.  This portal will offer students the opportunity to not only attend some of the UK’s best sports venues but also earn money to continue driving their passion for sports photography”.
