The Racist Rants of Mother on London Tram Cause Outrage

The British Transport Police have launched an investigation after a video featuring a white mother on a train screaming abuse at passengers went viral.  The video has caused outrage amongst viewers with thousands calling for the woman’s arrest.

The unidentified mother was filmed during a train journey from Croydon to Wimbledon holding her son on her lap and screaming abuse at foreign commuters.  Her hate filled tirade demanded that a number of passengers on the tram “go back to their own country” saying that they were not British.

A passenger on the tram filmed the woman and was uploaded on to YouTube labelled “My Tram Experience” where the YouTube user says the video shows a “British woman on London transport complaining that Britain is nothing now that ethnic minorities are in her country”.

Throughout the two minutes and twenty five second video, the mother claims Britain as hers as she racially abuses the passengers that surround her.  Her words often sound slurred as she continues her rant.  When passengers intervene, asking her to stop swearing in front of their children, she replies “Yeah fine, I’ve got my little kid here” but it seems to only add more fire to the racist rant.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “The video posted on YouTube and Twitter has been brought to our attention and our officers have launched an investigation.

“At present it is not entirely clear which tram stops the offence took place between and when it occurred. As a result we need anyone who witnessed this incident, or with any information that could assist our investigation – including the identity of the woman – to contact us.

“We will not tolerate racism in any form on the rail network and will do everything in our power to locate the person responsible.”

UPDATE: Just minutes after posting, a 34 year old woman from New Addington has been arrested for Racially Aggravated Public Order Offence.
