Parklife Weekender Announces 20 New Acts and the Desperados Factory

As any hardened Young Academic reader will be only too aware, we have pretty much not stopped going on about the Parklife Weekender so far this summer! In Glastonbury’s absence, many festivals have been vying for the ultimate festival crown and Parklife could well be in the mix come September. They have bolstered what is already an incredible line up of artists and events with the Desperados Factory, read on for more information…

With just 2 weeks to go until the Parklife Weekender opens its gates to the Platt’s Field farewell festival, organisers are pleased to announce 20 new acts and a brand new stage for the festival. Parklife has also been buoyed by the latest weather forecasts which show that unlike last year – the sun is set to shine and shine!

So, what is this Desperados Factory?

Desperados brings The Factory to Parklife – a new Festival stage designed to house bands, DJs, performances and experiences that provide an unexpected twist on an amazing event. The Factory also holds a fully stocked Desperados bar, artists and performers, a skate ramp outside hosting dancers, urban sports performers throughout the Festival and Underground Rebel Bingo Club will provide an alternative bingo experience.

For anyone that has never tried this refreshing beer, Desperados is the original tequila-flavoured premium packaged lager owned by Heineken. It is a unique taste experience that combines the sweetness of tequila flavours with the bitterness of high quality, golden beer.

Just like the Parklife Weekender and Drink Aware, Young Academic promotes sensible and safe drinking – especially in the heat. So for more information, head over to www.drinkaware.co.uk. There is nothing impressive or fun about ending up in the hospital and ruining what is going to be a truly incredible festival

Anyway, rant over! Let’s all get ready to have an immense weekend. Young Academic will be there doing some in-festival reports, reviews and interviews – so be sure to say hello. Keep up to date with any line up additions and other news via the Festival Guide and remember that budding writers can always send their own reviews to me at [email protected]
