2011 census announces two ways to get your hands on free festival tickets | Young Academic Student News

The Young Academic Ultimate Festival Guide has been building up over the last few months, with details of all of the best music festivals going on all around the globe. How about going to one for free? Not content with just bringing you all the hot topics and student news features you need, we can bring you details of how you can get yourselves to Summer Break Live and Morning Parade for free. That’s right – nada, nil, gratis…..

The 2011 Census has launched the Snapshot and Origami Masterclasses competitions. The could wind up with you getting VIP festival entry and concert tickets if you get involved today with Young Academic.

Students and young academics across the United Kingdom will soon be able to get their hands on a number of exclusive prizes, as the 2011 Census launches two competitions open exclusively to you guys. Prizes include VIP tickets to Beach Break Live and money-can’t-buy VIP access to a Morning Parade gig!

First up is the Snapshot Competition which launches in partnership with the National Union of Students and Morning Parade – one of the hottest new acts of the year. The challenge is to fit as many people as possible in a single photo at a campus landmark. Entrants can upload and share their photos on the 2011 Census website and on Flickr, with the best entries in with a chance of winning some amazing prizes from Morning Parade as well as a host of goodies from record label EMI.

Inspired by the origami theme of the census promotional campaign, the Origami Masterclasses Competition asks students to follow the step by step origami how-to videos available on the 2011 Census YouTube channel and then film their own creations. Videos can then be submitted to [email protected] and the most innovative entries will win the chance to party with Tinie Tempah, Mark Ronson and Magnetic Man at this years Beach Break Live in June, the ultimate student festival.
