Students and Graduates Encouraged to enter National Council for Work Experience Awards

Young Academic can reveal that students and graduates are invited to nominate companies that have provided them with the best internship experience. They have been asked to do this as the National Council for Work Experience (NCWE) launches its annual Awards for the ninth year.

Traditionally focused on undergraduate work experience, the NCWE Awards have changed for 2012 to enable graduates to enter. Those who have undertaken international placements are also now eligible to enter.

Students and graduates have until Friday 9 December 2011 to enter the company they feel has provided the Best Employment Experience. The online entry form can be completed at www.work-experience.org/awards

Mike Hill, chief executive of the Higher Education Careers Services Unit that runs the NCWE Awards says: “Work experience has become more prominent in recent years and is now a vital component to a graduate’s employability, so it’s apt that we now recognise those businesses offering internships to graduates.”

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in London in March 2012. This year’s sponsors include the AGR, Changeboard, GlaxoSmithKline, Centrica, CRCC Asia, PlaceNet and Intel.
